Meet your needs with Medicare Advantage plans

Now is the time to enroll in a health benefit plan (MAP) with no monthly premiums to improve your health benefits.

Although some MAPs have a monthly fee, there are enough that you don't need to pay a monthly fee. The Medicare Advantage Plan, Part C, started in 2003 and has been growing ever since. Today, nearly 27 million Medicare beneficiaries receive Part A and B benefits through MAP, which is provided by insurers and includes Part D drug coverage. In addition to providing your Part A and Part B benefits, many MAPD plans offer benefits not available through Original Medicare, which may include dental, hearing, health, telemedicine, health food costs, personal family assistance, prescription drugs shopping, travel to doctor's appointments and other extras. Plans can also tailor their benefit packages to certain chronic conditions such as diabetes or kidney disease. MAPD plans must cover all services covered by Original Medicare, except for palliative care. Original Medicare covers health care even when you are on a Medicare Advantage plan. With all types of Medicare Advantage plans, you are covered for emergency and urgent care. Medicare Advantage plans must have emergency coverage in the plan's service area (but not outside the United States)

In most Medicare Advantage Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) plans, you can go to doctors, other health care providers, or hospitals in the plan's network, except for emergencies or emergencies. In an HMO-POS (point of service) plan, you can get some out-of-network services for higher copays or coinsurance.

You just need to make sure that your providers and hospitals are in network and that your drugs are in the plan. Medicare's Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) allows you to leave a plan, join a plan, or change plans. AEP runs from October 15 to December 7 every year. However, if you are over 65, AEP is not necessary. Your Initial Enrollment Period (IEP) begins 3 months before the month you turn 65 and ends 3 months after the month you turn 65. Finally, if you signed up for a MAPD plan between Oct. On December 15 and 7, you can switch to another benefit plan or switch to Original Medicare and choose a prescription-only plan between January 1 and March 31.

Remember that if you enroll in a MAPD plan, you must continue to pay your Part B premiums. Also, you cannot have a Medicare Supplement plan and a Medicare Advantage plan at the same time. And, when you enroll in the MAPD plan, your coverage will begin January 1, 2022. Will Barnes, a business-financial consultant and expert consultant helps Social Security recipients get all their benefits under Original Medicare Part A and Part B through Part C. Part C, also known as Medicare Advantage Plans (MAPD), offer all of Medicare Part A. and Part B benefits in addition to prescription drug coverage. In addition, many benefits plans are not available from original Medicare, such as vision, dental, health, travel, prescription drugs, health food costs, home care and more.
